Board Certified Holistic Health Doctor
Karen Nelson, B.C.D.H.H. is a Board-Certified Doctor of Holistic Health. She received her training from the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education and Trinity School of Natural Health. In addition to also being a Certified Natural Health Therapist and Educator she holds a Master’s Degree in Education from St. John’s University in New York. Inspired by her own health struggles that began as a child, she began her exploration of natural health. “I desperately needed more energy to enjoy my life and loved ones. I wanted to be able to once again do the things that brought me joy. I was tired of feeling lost, alone, not at peace and filled with fear. By working to find the root cause of my symptoms, and changing my foundations, I became a new person. To say that I am a passionate advocate of natural medicine is an understatement. I love educating others on how they too can turn their lives around to reach their fullest potential.”
Although she has been working with clients since 2016, Dr. Nelson opened Heavenly Health LLC in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, during the COVID pandemic after seeing the increasing need for strengthening the body naturally and on all levels: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Extensively trained in nutrition, bodywork techniques, flower remedies, homeopathy, as well as an assortment of other modalities, Dr. Nelson is a perpetual learner. “My newest endeavor is Live Blood Auditing. It is absolutely fascinating to have such an up-close perspective on how our body is reacting to what we eat and drink, prescribe or supplement, and yes, even feel. Even as a doctor, my respect for the human body, specifically the digestive and immune systems, multiplied immensely after seeing my blood cells in action.”
A native Michigander, Dr. Nelson moved to the northeast for close to 20 years where she met her husband of now almost 22 years. Taking advantage of an opportunity to return to her rural roots, they moved back to the Mitten State where together they raise their three teenagers. When not working with clients, she can usually be found tending to her flower and herb gardens, playing with her golden retriever, Gus, relaxing on her porch, or hopelessly rooting for the New York Mets and Giants.
